Incredibly easy drinking, with a depth of flavour at this ABV and price tag that's hard to beat.
The GlenDronach 12 year is a heavily sherried single malt weighing in at 43% ABV and drawing only around £30 from your bank account. It's also - for the money - one of the best value, tastiest sherry bomb style drams on the market.
On the nose: Heavily sherried, and the influence on the nose is obvious. Caramelised sugar, oranges, cherries and sticky toffee pudding.
The taste: Incredibly easy drinking, with a depth of flavour at this ABV and price tag that's hard to beat. Dried blackcurrants, spiced ginger cake, marmalade and of course, plenty of sweet sherry influence. The mouthfeel on this is the best part - sticky, sweet and rich.
The finish: Sweet tea, raisins and a hint of choclate and coffee bean. Moreish.
